Palma Studios is a retrofit project in Portugal. It is a sustainable redevelopment of a late 19th century farmhouse, located in the Palma neighbourhood of Lisbon, which is characterised by its village scale. The original building's shell is preserved to house new micro studios for young people.
Introducing a new basement and loft level, the areas are maximised by an interlocking three-dimensional puzzle of rooms with mezzanines made of perforated metal. Using the local shades of burnt yellow, the building brings the outside in.
